The layahost homepage
layahost is a hosted API service for text classification and moderation that runs the open-source Laya model and Cloudflare's Clef models. It provides typed decisions (choices, yes/no probabilities and scores) about text you send, supporting use cases including content moderation, spam filtering, support ticket routing, intent detection, and personal data redaction. The service is Jev-compatible, meaning it accepts the same API endpoints, request formats and model names as Jev, but runs on its own servers in Helsinki, Finland for Laya models. It includes a console for building decision flows, testing accuracy on your own data with test sets, and comparing model performance side by side. You can also train custom models on your own labels.

What counts as a decision?
One answered question. A POST /v1/decide call is one decision, and a POST /v1/systemone request with three questions is three decisions. Rejected or failed requests (4xx, 5xx) are free.
Is layahost really compatible with Jev?
Yes for the API: it uses the same /v1/systemone and /v1/models endpoints, request and response shapes, and is tested with the official Python and JavaScript SDKs. Jev model names like jev-latest are accepted, though the underlying model is different so probabilities are not identical.
Is there a free tier?
New accounts get $1 of free credit (66.7K decisions) after verifying their email, with no card required. After that, you can choose a monthly plan starting at $9 for 1M decisions, or buy prepaid credit from $10 onwards.
Where is my data processed?
Laya models run on layahost's servers in Helsinki, Finland. Text is processed in memory and never used for training, with logs kept for 7 days. Requests using Cloudflare's Clef models are processed by Cloudflare Workers AI, which may be outside the EU.
Is it really compatible with Jev?
Yes for the API: the same /v1/systemone and /v1/models endpoints, request and response shapes, errors and request IDs, tested with the official Python and JavaScript SDKs. Jev model names such as jev-latest are accepted. The model behind it is different, so probabilities are not identical.
