NotchStar is a native macOS app that puts ten small tools in the area around the MacBook notch. The app includes a searchable clipboard history, file shelf with AirDrop support, now playing controls for music and media, calendar and reminders, timers with stopwatch and Pomodoro tracking, a teleprompter, camera mirror, system stats monitoring, disk management tools, and quick notes.
The app is designed to feel native to macOS with real system controls, spring animations and accessibility support including VoiceOver labels and Reduce Motion support. It requires macOS 14 or later and runs on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs. On Macs without a notch, NotchStar displays as a small floating pill at the top of the screen.
NotchStar is a one-time purchase with no subscription, available for $4 with a 7-day free trial. One license works on up to 3 of your own Macs and the app does not collect data by default, with no account required.

Does NotchStar collect my data?
Not by default. There is no account and the app measures nothing unless you choose to share anonymous version info. Clipboard history stays in memory on your Mac and is cleared when you quit, and the app skips copies that password managers mark as concealed.
Which Macs does NotchStar support?
NotchStar needs macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later and runs on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Macs with a notch show it in the notch, while other Macs get a small floating pill at the top centre of the screen.
Will NotchStar slow down my Mac?
It is built to be light as a native menu bar app with no Dock icon, and most tools only sample data while they are on screen. The clipboard watcher and timers keep working when the notch is closed.
