The Project Commander homepage
Project Commander is a Jira add-on that reads your project plan and shows whether it's deliverable. It calculates capacity versus demand over time, identifies threatened dependencies, and provides a forecast finish date with a confidence range. You can ask it questions about your project in plain English and get answers with calculated figures, not guesses. It includes planning tools like dependency tracking and auto-level, forecasting features including impact analysis and a Gantt chart that updates automatically, and monitoring capabilities such as alerts and a risk register. The app runs entirely within your Jira instance and leaves Jira as the place the work lives.

Buyer questions
Does Project Commander replace Jira?
No. Project Commander is an add-on for Jira that cannot be used without it. It installs into your Jira site as a Forge app, reads your projects, sprints, issues, people, time tracking and dependency links, and leaves Jira as the place the work lives. It replaces only the planning and capacity features of Jira Premium and the delivery reporting of Rovo.
What makes Project Commander unique?
Most Jira apps report on what has already happened. Project Commander answers whether your plan is actually deliverable by weighing remaining work against your team's real capacity through your target date. It provides a forecast finish date with a confidence range and identifies which sprints are overloaded and which dependencies threaten the date. Every number is arithmetic on data already in Jira with no AI models used.
What is the Ask panel?
Ask is a sidebar shown on every tab where you type questions about your project in plain words. It answers with figures worked out by the app using the same calculations as the tabs, so the same question always gives the same numbers. What-if changes are shown with an amber line and do not write to Jira or use any AI model.
What is the Timeline tab?
The Timeline tab is a Gantt chart that automatically updates based on your project data. It draws every epic and issue as a bar on a calendar at the position where the forecast says the work lands, including sprint markers, dependency arrows, and the critical chain. When you change an estimate, person or date, the whole chart redraws automatically.
How does Auto-Level work?
Auto-Level redistributes issues across sprints to balance capacity. You choose a strategy such as Priority, Size, Due Date, or Balanced (the smart default that spreads load per assignee). It rebalances an overloaded plan in one click and shows you what it moved before anything is saved to Jira.
