TickerNotch is a menu-bar app that puts live tickers for stocks, crypto, indices and commodities beside your MacBook notch, alongside weather for any city, live follower counts from social platforms, and scrolling news from your choice of RSS feeds. You can pin any item to your menu bar separately. The app includes candlestick charts with technical indicators, portfolio tracking with holdings and profit/loss, and configurable price alerts. It requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later and works best on MacBooks with a hardware notch, though it simulates one on older Macs or external displays. A 7-day free trial unlocks all features; the free version keeps running indefinitely with limited slots, or you can upgrade to Pro for $5 monthly or $40 lifetime.

Does TickerNotch work on a Mac without a notch?
Yes. On an external monitor or a Mac without a notch, TickerNotch draws a simulated island at the top centre of the screen and puts the strips beside it. This is Full notch mode, which is on by default and has an adjustable height. It works either way.
Can I get TickerNotch in the EU?
Yes, through the direct download. The Mac App Store doesn't carry TickerNotch in the EU, so EU users install the signed and notarised DMG from bitvibelabs.com/tickernotch/ or run the Homebrew command. The Pro buttons on the product page unlock that direct version.
Are the prices real-time?
Crypto prices are streamed live around the clock from a crypto-derivatives venue. Stocks, indices, ETFs, futures and currencies run roughly 15 minutes behind. Every ticker carries a Live or Delayed badge so you can always tell.
What does Pro cost, and what is free?
The direct download starts with a 7-day full trial and no card. After that the free version keeps running with one ticker, one weather slot, one social counter, one news channel, one alert and one pin. Pro costs $5 a month or $40 once for lifetime use. Setapp subscribers get every feature included.
Does TickerNotch collect my data?
Very little. There is no account, no advertising and no third-party analytics. Your watchlist, positions and settings stay on your Mac. The direct-download edition sends one daily usage count under a random install ID, never which symbols or cities you follow, and one switch in Settings turns it off.
