The dashboard provides comprehensive monitoring including cache hit rates, memory usage, connection details, per-slab breakdown, latency percentiles (P50, P90, P99) across multiple timeframes, top keys and prefixes analysis, and configurable email alerts. The service supports standard memcached protocol, TLS connections, multiple scoped credentials per instance with different permissions, and is compatible with existing memcached clients.

Is the free tier free forever?
No — it is a one-week trial with 100MB of memory and no credit card required. The free trial is meant to let you try the real thing before deciding, not to run production workloads on indefinitely for free.
How is billing calculated?
Paid plans are prorated by the minute against the plan's monthly price — you're only charged for the time an instance was actually running, with no rounding up to the next hour. For example, an instance on the €130/month plan run for 6h 15m (375 minutes) would cost around €1.12. You can cancel anytime with no long-term commitment.
Why is Velstash Cache cheaper than AWS ElastiCache, Azure Cache, and GCP Memorystore?
Velstash does not pay retail cloud prices. Instead, it leverages bare-metal infrastructure and/or long-term capacity commitments to secure the best price for clients without cutting corners on reliability.
Is Velstash Cache compatible with existing memcached clients?
Yes. Velstash Cache is managed memcached: you get a dedicated cache instance reachable over the standard memcached protocol with credentials scoped to you, so existing memcached clients work without changes.
Do you charge for egress traffic?
Not currently — egress is free on all plans today. Velstash reserves the right to introduce usage-based pricing for disproportionately high external traffic in the future with advance notice, but this is not currently in effect.
