Are my provider API tokens safe? Can ZoneWatcher change my DNS?
On monitoring plans, ZoneWatcher is strictly read-only and cannot create, edit, or delete DNS records. The Control plan's change management and rollback features require write access. Credentials are encrypted at rest and never exposed to ZoneWatcher's servers.
How often do you check my DNS records?
Every zone is checked every 5 minutes. The system runs continuously with checks queued every minute, so unauthorized changes are typically detected within minutes.
How does the free trial work? Do I need a credit card?
The 7-day free trial gives full access to every monitoring feature. A card is collected securely by Stripe at signup but never submitted to ZoneWatcher's servers. You won't be charged until the trial ends and can cancel anytime.
What if my DNS provider isn't supported?
ZoneWatcher integrates directly with provider APIs when possible. For unsupported providers, the Public DNS provider monitors records through the public DNS system, working with any provider.
What notification channels do you support?
ZoneWatcher supports Email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, custom webhooks, GitHub Issues, Jira, HaloPSA, and Autotask. Multiple channels can be configured per team with control over which event types each receives.
