DevGhost
AI developer productivity analytics that estimates substantive work behind code changes
DevGhost analyzes Git history to estimate developer productivity on a unified benchmark scale, comparing each developer's output against a reference mid-level
Overview

The DevGhost homepage
DevGhost is an AI-powered developer productivity analytics platform that measures code contribution through Git history analysis rather than time tracking or surveillance. It estimates the effort behind code changes on a unified scale, comparing each developer's output to a reference benchmark of a full-time mid-level developer familiar with the project and working without AI assistance.
The platform helps teams and business leaders understand whether output matches development costs, assess the impact of AI adoption, and identify where to focus management attention. DevGhost provides a common reference scale for comparing all developers while accounting for their coding allocation and role, and explicitly separates measurable code contribution from other important work like mentoring and code reviews.
Available in three formats—cloud-based SaaS, local installation on your computer, or on-premises deployment—DevGhost emphasizes that its metric is one input to human assessment, not a sole basis for personnel decisions.

Buyer questions
Does DevGhost monitor or track developers?
No. DevGhost analyzes Git history and code changes to estimate work volume on a reference scale. It does not track working time, capture screens, or log keystrokes. Hours describe work embodied in code, not actual time spent at a computer.
Can DevGhost be used as the sole basis for personnel decisions?
No. DevGhost must be used as one input to human assessment alongside role, task complexity, code quality, and business impact. It should never be the sole or primary basis for reviews, pay, promotion, or dismissal.
What does Ghost% measure and how is it calculated?
Ghost% estimates individual code productivity relative to a mid-level developer who knows the project and works without AI. At the default norm, Ghost% = E ÷ (D × 3 × S) × 100, where E is reference hours, D is the day count, and S is coding Share divided by 100. 100% matches the reference; higher indicates more estimated output, lower indicates less.
