Overview

The Fallow homepage

Fallow is a codebase analyzer for TypeScript and JavaScript that reads your entire repository as a single graph in under a second. It identifies complexity hotspots and health scores, detects architecture drift from boundary rules and circular dependencies, finds duplicated code and styling drift from design systems, and discovers unused files, exports, and dependencies. The tool runs locally via CLI, integrates with VS Code, and can be used with coding agents and CI/CD workflows. An optional runtime layer adds production data to show which code actually executed.

Capabilities

  • Health scoring and complexity analysis
  • Dead code and unused export detection
  • Code duplication detection
  • Architecture boundary enforcement
  • Styling drift detection
  • VS Code extension with Code Lens and fixes
  • CLI with local analysis
  • MCP server and agent integration
  • Runtime coverage with production data
  • Automatic code fixes

Buyer questions

How does Fallow differ from linters?

Linters check individual files, while Fallow checks the entire codebase as one graph. It finds problems between files that never mention each other, which linters and TypeScript cannot detect. The tool reads the whole module graph in under a second, making it fast enough for pre-commit hooks.

Is my source code uploaded when using Fallow?

No. The scan runs locally, reads your files, and writes a report without uploading any source code. Product telemetry is off by default and only sends data if you enable it with fallow telemetry enable. The telemetry does not include your code or IP address.

Can Fallow be used without installing it?

Yes. You can run Fallow immediately with npx fallow, which requires no configuration on the first run. After the first run, it reports health, duplication, and unused code.

Does Fallow work with coding agents?

Yes. Fallow provides structured tool calls through its MCP server for coding agents like Claude Code and Cursor. Agents can use Fallow to see the entire repository structure before making changes, helping them avoid duplicating code or violating architecture boundaries.
