Ghostfork
Zero-trust Git hosting where code is encrypted on your machine before it leaves
Git hosting platform where code is encrypted client-side before leaving your machine, ensuring the server never has plaintext access to your repositories.
Overview

The Ghostfork homepage
Ghostfork provides zero-trust Git hosting with a fundamentally different trust model from traditional options. Code is encrypted on your machine before it leaves, and all encryption and decryption happens locally. The server holds only encrypted code and encrypted repo keys, making it impossible for it to access plaintext even if compromised.
The platform maintains the same Git commands and workflow you're familiar with. You create a vault as an encrypted container for each git repo, then push your existing repositories into it. The architectural guarantee of zero plaintext access is not just a policy but built into the system design.
Ghostfork handles all the infrastructure for you while you retain complete code privacy. The service offers the security guarantees of self-hosted Git like Gitea or Forgejo without the operational burden of managing your own infrastructure.

Buyer questions
How does Ghostfork encrypt my code?
The helper encrypts your code locally on your machine before it leaves. Plaintext never touches the network. All encryption and decryption happens locally, and the server only receives and holds ciphertext.
What happens if the Ghostfork server is compromised?
If the server is compromised, only ciphertext would be exposed. The server cannot access plaintext because it holds no keys—encrypted code and encrypted repo keys that it cannot use or open. Server compromise exposes ciphertext only, unlike self-hosted solutions where compromise means plaintext exposure.
How do I push code into Ghostfork?
You create a vault using the gf CLI tool, then push your existing git repository to it using standard git commands. You can push a new project with git init or push an existing repo by adding Ghostfork as a remote.
Can I share my repository with other users?
Yes, the vault owner can grant access to other users. Each authorized user receives an encrypted copy of the repo key that only they can decrypt locally. Access is granted using the gf add-user command.
