Ping Clock monitors background jobs and scheduled tasks that don't respond to requests. Unlike uptime monitors that watch websites, Ping Clock expects jobs to report in: a cron job pings a URL when it succeeds, and silence becomes the alert. You add one line to any script in Bash, Python, Node.js, PowerShell or Kubernetes. Ping Clock tracks when jobs run, how long they take, why they failed, and sends alerts when a job misses its scheduled time. It supports flexible period schedules (every N hours) and cron expressions in any IANA timezone. On paid plans, you can see job output logs, track run duration, and manage checks via API.

Does a ping slow down my job?
No. Pinging is one HTTP request at the end of the job. Use a short timeout so a network hiccup never blocks the job.
What if the ping endpoint is unreachable when my job runs?
Use retries in your ping command (like the --retry flag in curl) so one dropped connection never counts as a missed run.
Can I see why a job failed?
On Pro and Business plans, you can send the last lines of output in the POST body and they will show up on the failed run.
How is Ping Clock different from uptime monitoring?
Uptime monitoring watches things that respond, like websites. Ping Clock is heartbeat monitoring that watches things that are supposed to run, like cron jobs and backups.
What alerts do I get?
Email and Slack alerts are available on every plan. Teams, Discord and webhooks are available on Starter plans and above.
