Overview
The TMPlayer homepage
TMPlayer is an unofficial Telegram media player that lets you watch videos from your own Telegram chats and channels on multiple devices. It streams videos while they download, so playback starts in seconds on Android TV, Fire TV, Android phones, Windows, macOS, Linux, and in a web browser.
The app supports multiple video formats including MKV, MP4, AVI and TS, with embedded subtitles and multiple audio tracks. It includes features like automatic episode playback with countdown, subtitle search through OpenSubtitles, episode grouping by season, and resume watching from where you left off.
TMPlayer connects directly to your own Telegram account via QR code or phone number, with no server in between. The app is free, contains no ads, and is fully open source under GPL-3.0 license. It requires minimal storage, works on devices with 1 GB of RAM, and runs keyboard shortcuts similar to YouTube and VLC on desktop platforms.

Buyer questions
Is TMPlayer free?
Yes, TMPlayer is free with no paid version, no subscription, and no trial. Every feature works for everyone. The code is open source under GPL-3.0, and there are no ads from TMPlayer itself.
Is TMPlayer safe and can it read my messages?
TMPlayer talks to Telegram directly through TDLib with no server or bot in between. It only shows videos from your chats and cannot read, reply or send messages. All code is public under GPL-3.0 and every release is built by GitHub from that code.
Do I need a phone to sign in to TMPlayer?
Not always. You can sign in with a QR code by scanning in Telegram on your phone, or by entering your phone number and the code Telegram sends. A TV and computer show the QR code first, while a phone shows phone number login first.
Which video formats does TMPlayer play?
TMPlayer plays MKV, MP4, AVI and TS formats with embedded subtitles including image-based ones, and multiple audio tracks you can switch during playback.
Can I download Telegram on my TV?
Telegram makes no app for televisions. Its Android phone app can be installed on an Android TV by hand, but it is laid out for touch and hard to use with a remote. TMPlayer is made for the TV: on an Android TV, Google TV or Fire TV it signs in to your own Telegram account with a QR code and plays the videos in your chats, without the messages. Samsung TVs on Tizen, LG TVs on webOS, Roku and Apple TV cannot install it, because they do not run Android; plug an Android TV stick or a Fire TV Stick into the TV's HDMI port instead.
