AirStats is a lightweight system monitor that displays sixteen metrics in your Mac's menu bar while using only 0.046% CPU. It shows everything major monitors display in a location you already look at, with the option to show just two metrics or all sixteen.

The app includes a panel with per-core load, memory pressure, and top processes, plus a desktop widget for persistent monitoring. Features include threshold alerts, keyboard shortcuts, customizable colors, and detailed data over the last 24 hours for CPU, memory, GPU, network, disk, battery, and temperature.

AirStats is completely free with no account or paid tier required. It runs as a single process with no background helpers or launch agents. When quit, nothing remains running. The application is open source under the MIT license and only sends data off your machine if you explicitly enable public IP lookup.

No. AirStats is one process with no helper and no launch agent, so nothing remains running after you quit it.

Does it send anything anywhere?

Only if you turn on the public IP lookup feature, which is off by default. Everything else displayed on screen is read directly from your machine.

Is the source open?

Yes, AirStats is MIT licensed and everything is open source, including the scripts behind the numbers on the site.

Does it work on Intel Macs?

Not yet. The build is Apple silicon only, which contributes to its small 8.9 MB size. It requires macOS 14 or later.
