Bewary is a scam-detection service that checks links, domains, phone numbers, emails, crypto wallets, IBANs, apps and payment handles for scams. It builds verdicts by summing weighted signals from multiple data sources into a p_scam score, returning a verdict of safe, unknown, suspicious or scam. The service is available through a REST API, MCP server, command-line tool and web-based free tools. Lookups use no language model and each answer lists the datasets checked and their coverage. Bewary reads phishing feeds, FTC complaints, FCC complaints and other national lists hourly or daily depending on the source.

Buyer questions

Can I try it for free?

Yes. A free key gets 1,000 credits a month with no card, on every endpoint and MCP tool, including deep lookups.

Do unused credits roll over?

Free credits reset on the first day of each month in UTC. Prepaid credits from a pack never expire.

Am I charged for failed calls?

No. Credits are taken when a call starts and given back if it fails on our side. Invalid items in a batch are never charged.

Is the MCP server priced the same as the API?

Yes. The MCP server runs the same code path, so a tool call costs the same credits as the matching endpoint, from the same balance.

What happens when I run out of credits?

Calls answer 402 with the code quota_exceeded until next month's free credits or a credit pack arrives. Watches cost 1 credit a day and pause when the balance cannot pay. Auto top-up, off unless enabled, buys the pack you chose with your saved card.
