Overview

The FraudNova homepage

FraudNova is a REST API that returns a fraud-risk score and risk signals for IP addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers. The API detects anonymizing infrastructure like proxies, VPNs and Tor exit nodes, identifies recently abusive addresses and bot traffic, and provides email validation signals including disposable domains and deliverability checks. Phone checks return carrier, line type and VOIP risk information. All checks return a calibrated 0–100 fraud score with discrete signals so users can block, challenge or allow with confidence.

The service operates on a prepaid credit model with no subscriptions or monthly minimums. Users start with 25 free credits after verifying their email, then purchase additional prepaid credit packs. The API responds in sub-second times with automatic failover and is designed for integration into signup flows, checkouts and login decisions.

Buyer questions

What exactly is a credit?

One check of an IP address, email address, or phone number costs one credit. You start with 25 free credits after verifying your email, then top up with prepaid packs with no subscriptions or monthly minimums, and credits never expire.

Which signals does a check return?

Every check returns a 0–100 fraud score. IP checks include proxy, VPN, Tor, active VPN, active Tor, recent abuse and bot status. Email checks add disposable, honeypot, deliverability and domain-age signals. Phone checks add carrier, line type, VOIP and prepaid status.

How do I authenticate requests?

Create an API key in your dashboard and send it as a Bearer token in the Authorization header. Keys are shown once, can be revoked anytime, and each has its own rate limit.

How do payments work?

Credit packs are paid up front by card processed by Polar as merchant of record, or in cryptocurrency via NOWPayments which settles in USDT. Your balance is credited automatically once payment confirms.

Is there a free way to try it?

Yes. Verifying your email grants 25 free credits, and the /api/v1/my-ip endpoint is free to call so you can wire up integration before spending anything.
