Fratera NullKey is a zero-knowledge encrypted vault available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It stores passwords, API keys, server credentials, authenticator codes, secure notes, and encrypted media in a single vault where the encryption happens on your device before data leaves it.

The app includes features like built-in TOTP authenticator, Password AutoFill integration with Safari and other browsers, offline access with local encrypted cache, security tools for password audits, hidden and decoy vaults for sensitive data, and recovery options through Recovery Keys and Emergency Kits.

NullKey uses client-side encryption with AES-256-GCM for vault records and media, a wrapped-key architecture where your Decryption Key never leaves your device, and configurable privacy protections including idle locking, clipboard clearing, and app-switcher privacy shields.

What encryption does NullKey use?

NullKey uses AES-256-GCM to protect vault records and media, and PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA-256, Argon2id, HKDF-SHA-256, and standard HMAC algorithms for key derivation, local unlock, recovery, and TOTP generation.

Can Fratera access my vault contents?

No. Vault contents are encrypted locally before synchronization, your Decryption Key is never uploaded to the service, and the service operator cannot derive the plaintext Vault Key from stored data.

What happens if I lose my Decryption Key?

You can restore your vault using a Recovery Key and printable Emergency Kit. However, if you lose both your Decryption Key and usable recovery material, Fratera cannot recover your vault contents because they do not receive the Decryption Key.

What device platforms does NullKey support?

NullKey is available on iPhone and iPad running iOS/iPadOS 15 or later, and Mac running macOS 12 or later with Apple Silicon.

Does NullKey work offline?

Yes, an encrypted local cache keeps your vault useful without an internet connection, and queued changes synchronize after you reconnect with conflict preservation.
