The Typehall homepage
Typehall is a private, local-first text workspace that runs entirely in your browser. Open the page and start typing—no account creation or sign-up is needed. Your notes autosave locally on your device and remain private, stored only in your browser's local storage.
The app includes organizing tools like folders, tags, pinned notes, favorites, and archive functions. It supports global search across titles, text, tags, and folder names, with saved filters and multiple sorting options. Notes can link to each other and display a local note graph. The editor features find and replace, live word and character counts, and a dark mode.
Typehall supports optional Markdown editing with a sanitized preview that renders on demand. The app works offline after one initial online visit, and you can export notes as .txt, .md, or .html files, print to PDF, or back up your entire workspace as a JSON file. There is no cloud sync or cross-device access by design—all data remains on the device where it was created.

Where are my notes saved?
Your notes are stored locally in your browser. Typehall does not upload or store your note content on its servers. There is no account and nothing to log in to.
Do I need an account to use Typehall?
No. You open the page and start typing. Your notes autosave locally as you type and remain when you return in the same browser.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
Clearing browser data permanently removes your locally stored notes. You should download important notes as .txt files to keep a copy.
Does Typehall work offline?
Yes, after one successful online visit caches the app. Writing, organizing, searching, and exporting all work with no connection, though the first visit needs an internet connection.
Does Typehall support Markdown?
Yes, per note. You edit plain-text Markdown and render a sanitized preview on demand, with .md import and export. Plain text is the default.
