Is ClockOut really free?
Yes. The Free plan is free forever for up to 2 people, including you, with no credit card required. Upgrade to Starter ($19 a month for up to 5 people, then $3 per extra person) when you grow past two, or to Pro ($39 a month for up to 5, then $6 each) when you need multiple locations, payroll runs, and the compliance engine.
How does the GPS / geofence time clock work?
Employees clock in from the ClockOut app and coordinates are captured and checked against the geofences you draw around each location. Out-of-bounds clock-ins are blocked or flagged, depending on your settings.
What if my team doesn't have phones?
Use kiosk mode. Put a tablet at the door and set it up once: an admin signs in on it, opens the kiosk link, and taps Set up this device as a kiosk. Employees then clock in with a 4 to 6 digit PIN. No employee logins, no app installs, no personal devices required.
Can I export payroll to ADP, Gusto, or QuickBooks?
Yes. ClockOut produces payroll-ready CSV files in formats accepted by ADP, Gusto, QuickBooks, and most other major payroll providers. Generic CSV is also available for anything else.
Does it handle overtime and meal-break compliance?
Yes. Configure daily and weekly OT thresholds, mandatory meal periods, rest breaks, and max consecutive days. Violations show up in the Exception Inbox automatically.
