jstash

JSON storage for each signed-in user of a web app

Let signed-in users save and load their own private JSON data across devices using existing login providers, with no backend required.

Overview

The jstash homepage

jstash is JSON storage for web app users. Each signed-in user gets their own private JSON document that they can save and load across any device using the app's existing login from Clerk, Supabase, Firebase or Google.

The service requires no backend setup, database design or security rules. Developers connect their login provider, create an app in the jstash dashboard, and use a few lines of fetch code to save and load user data. A token only ever reaches that person's documents.

jstash is designed for small data needs: user preferences, drafts, notes, progress checkpoints and personal settings that should follow someone between devices. It deliberately does not offer live sync, shared data, queries or an uptime SLA.

Capabilities

  • Per-user private JSON documents
  • Cross-device data sync on sign-in
  • Built-in access control
  • JSON Bins for public storage at a URL

Buyer questions

What does jstash do?

jstash lets each signed-in user of a web app save and load their own private JSON data. Users can save their settings, notes, drafts and progress on one device and access them on any device where they sign in.

Do I need a card to start using jstash?

No. The Free plan and trial JSON bins never ask for payment details.

What login providers does jstash work with?

jstash works with Clerk, Supabase Auth, Firebase Auth and Google Sign-In. Clerk and Google are tested end to end; Supabase Auth and Firebase Auth work with simulated tokens.

What happens if I reach my monthly limits?

Reaching monthly write or read allowances blocks further corresponding requests with HTTP 429 and MONTHLY_QUOTA_EXCEEDED, including the reset time. Nothing is deleted and your data stays readable in the dashboard. Allowances reset on the 1st at 00:00 UTC.
